La Hechicera Extra Anejo rum Is distilled using the solera method and aged between 12 and 21 years in American white oak casks.
La Hechicera rum has been produced by the The Riasco family for the past two decades. They're the only family-run Rum distillery in Colombia. The rum derives its name from the Spanish word “Hechicera” which translates to “enchantress”.
A top favorite for sure! No additives just a fine 12-21 blend. I actually prefer this over rums triple the price
Heb deze rum nu 5 dagen en ben er gek op gewoon super kleur geur en smaak. Veel verschillende smaken voor een kenner een topper
My first 10 points ever. Tasted at room temperature.
From all the Colombian rims that I tasted during my one week holiday in Cartagena, Hechicera is bar my far the most balanced and smooth of all the Colombian rums I had the opportunity to taste.
I find this rum to be the perfect balance between oaky and dry, as traditional rum should be. Very appealing to any purist rum (or even whisky) lover!
De sabor intenso y en boca una explosión de notas fabulosas mi favorito de la selección de ese país marcado por la violencia
Caramel, Coffee, Oak Wood with hints of citris (Orange). Amber in Color with a nice logo stamp on the bottle. Very smooth and worth every penny it cost. Did not last a week in the house. The longer it sits in ice the better it tastes. 10 in my books.
I'm going off a memory of rum fest, where I tried this after maybe 10 other rums, so maybe my memory isn't the clearest...
I do remember it being of the the biggest highlights of the event, wonderfully smooth with rich warm flavours and an incredible smell. Lovely
As a rum aficionado this is hands down one of the best rums I have ever tasted. Dry, incredibly smooth and an aroma to die for this is a beautiful tribute to what rum should taste like in its unadulterated form. I came across this on the back of a very much appreciated recommendation, hard to find but worth every effort in tracking down.
I know the place to buy Hechicera at El Dorado Airport in Bogota. I can resist to go there whenever I go to Bogota. Excellent rum, beautiful bottle. On my list of my ten favorite. After trying so many rums, this is one to be part of my "active" collection.
A well balanced rum, an excellent one. Eye Catching bottle and a very affordable price.
I had the pleasure to sample this rum at a cigar pairing at Boisdales Belgravia. As a rum lover I have found a perfect match in this rum; spicy and drier than other light South American rums, it has a unique taste profile and its smooth as silk.
Trop méconnu, mais tellement bon. Un véritable délice
Not for beginners. Ok, means, no sweet rhum, certainly no difficult rhum, the kind you start appreciating after trying many sweeter rhums. Me and my uncle tasted this one after much zacapa, plantation and yes even cracken. And accepted this one as best price quality. A really great rhum, no sweets but far from bitter or alcohol spirit sharpness. 40 % is our max level and this one has that holy level.
Not outspoken, tasty, far from a cheap sweet taste, brilliant balance. Yes, the sorceresses deserves its name.
First smell, it is a bit weird. Very closed. But let it open for some minutes and it will give you amazing aromas, almost without alcohol.
The taste is fantastic. So balanced and so nice.
I prefer unsweetened and with no added flavor rums, La Hechicera hits all the starts, it is a dry rum, with coffee, orange and oaky notes that is easy to drink. I prefer it on the rocks, so smooth that I have never had just one.
a very creamy scent of caramel and some sorts of toffee. in the mouth it is creamy and smooth. harmonic. round. no edges. for some moments to chill. i taste orange and coffee notes. maybe some tobacco. in the base it has to do with dictador rum, but in the end it adds the orange twist to it. very good stuff, i think and of course no added sugar. in the end it lacks one point to ten, because of its harmonic taste without any edge :).
Très belle découverte, sec mais équilibré avec le bois et des arômes complexes et profonds... Un rhum riche. Une de mes préférences.
Wow, good discovery. After a long distillery tradition, Riascos family, brother & sister decide to create their own rum. The result is a non extra sugar added very smooth aged in oak barrel. Vanilla is very subtile. Florale & fruity notes. In palate, fruit aromas are growing with apple, orange and other notes I can not identify. Dry and sweet at the same time. The bottle has a subtle design and the wax seal is awesome. This rum is the perfect transition between molasse & agricole. Looking forward to the future creations.
Qui a osé le noter 3, 4, 5, 6
J'hallucine grave :-)
+ color, great gentle taste with little bit coffe and tobacco, Columbia treasure
- little bit flavor
Recommended rum with nice taste
If you want a Colombian rum try this.
Beautifully balanced. A fantastic rum
I have always been more of a scotch and bourbon drinker. Of all the rums I tried this reminds me the most of a Scotch or bourbon.
Found accidently in Bogotá in a Jumbo store. (You cannot really find it even in COL.) The first catchy thing was the appearence of the bottle, and the price also indicated it was something above the others. It has a harmonic taste and aroma, you can clearly feel the caramel, but also a bit of alcoholic burn. A very good rum, much enjoyable, definitely a must-to-try, if you have the possibility.
