Taste 6/10. Little sweetness & oak, not bud blended but this is a typical maybe average rum. Somehow Oliver&Oliver rums character but with some touch of dry tones at the end.
This one was okey.. But the oak finish drags it down for me.. Fun concept from the tres hombres team though and cudos for the fair trade. That makes it more drinkable..
I recently had the please of tasting Tres Hombres Captains choice 2014, and I was BLOWN away, litteraly speaking. Therefore even though this is something completely different i cant help but to compare a bit. And this is no match...
Nose. Strong alcohol, and some pear?
Taste: Strong alcohol still, some oak and a bit of honey (sweet ish) in the end.
Aftertaste, dry, semi long and some oak.
I lack balance, this is not my cup of rum. Its not bad, but its not good either.
I'm not fully happy with the Canary Islands line of the Tres Hombres. This one, as was the predecessor Edition 04 2013, is too agricole:y. Not really my cup of rum. If you like the typical Rhum Agricoles from Martinique, this should be your choice.
