Not a good aftertaste. Good smell tough. Cuban rums not as good as Panamanian or other south american rums. 37 ABV and kind of cheap quality.

This is a very nice rum on the rocks or as a mixer. Wish we could purchase this in Canada. Much nicer than the lower tier Bacardi, Appleton or Captain Morgan swill that the LCBO carries in Ontario.

Sweet molasses dominates. Not in a bad way. Bottled at 38 ABV.

A good but not great rum. It lacks a bit in flavour. But works out borg for sipping and cocktails.

Tried the Ron Cubay Añejo and Blanco back-to-back while vacationing in Manzanillo Mexico. Very basic bottle and label design. Golden color. Very strong alcohol smell, strong alcohol taste and strong burn. Why to buy a 7 year old rum and then having to mix it with Coke, when there is a world out there full of much better rum.

Sampled this rum at the Ron Cubay stand at the Cardiff Rum Festival.
It's a traditional Cuban rum aged for 7 years. Sweet coffee on the nose, syrupy almost. Spicy in the mouth with touches of cacao and oak coming through. Perfect for mixing with cola.
"caramel and toffee mixed with a mellow fruitness, like mashed apricots..."
"Ron Cubay Anejo rum review by Helen at A Mountain of Crushed Ice"
The rum has a very nice sweet entry.
"Notes of spicy oak and hints of tobacco, chocolate and an almost honey like sweet note. ."

I love the taste of this. More on the sweet side with just the right amount of burn. Typical liquorice and molasses flavours. Easy to get carried away with.
