Brugal Añejo rum

Brugal Añejo

Dominican Republic | Gold | 40% ABV

Brugal Anejo rum is a blend of rums aged 3 to 5 years in used American white Oak barrels that previously held whiskey and bourbon.

The rum is produced in the Dominican Republic by Brugal & Co., a company that was founded in the late 1800s by the Spaniard Andrés Brugal Montaner. Today, the Brugal rum company remains largely in the control of Montaner's direct descendants.

Smells like oak without the taste. Tastes sweet but bitter also. Good enough to come back to. The price is cheap enough.

Not too much to say. Brugal definitely has better products than this, but this one is OK to be mixed in cocktails.

This was a good rum and rates higher than a mixing rum, but can't stand up against the truly great sippers. Easy enough to drink neat. Very light in aroma and flavour.

Had the opportunity to visit their Distillery in the DR many years ago and it was fascinating. This rum is good but nothing really jumps out and wows me. It has a mild burn and a slightly astringent after taste. I would only recommend mixing it in a Cuba Libra.

...if you find it at a reasonable price. It's a sweet and pleasant everyday rum, close to an Havana Club, maybe harsher. If you find it in the same price range, why not? Found it in Spain around 20€. If you pay more, it's not really worth it.

Drank a lot of this in Dominican on holidays and finally found it at home, little to sweet

This one comes across a bit harsh to sip. I prefer a swetter run on ice and this one doesn't have it. I think it is better served as a higher end mixing rum.

Es un ron que esta bien para mezclas pero me quedo con diferencia con su hermano el Extra Viejo.
