Malteco 10-Year

Sehr gefällig, aber nicht besonders. Nicht süß, sehr milder Geruch. Ganz OK

Mladší bratr. Tím nejde nic zkazit. Výrazný dojem ovšem nezanechá.

Rum from Panama have a special place in my heart, so I was excited to try this Malteco 10, but sadly I found it to be very underwhelming.

Nose: Very sweet smell of vanilla, chocolate, caramel, raisins and coconut
Taste: Vanilla, butterscotch, honey, raisins and molasses with a short and sweet aftertaste
Overall: This rum is nothing special on its own, but does work well as a mixer. It is very sweet and should probably get a 5/10, but the low price and value for money bumps it up to a 6/10.

jits a rum with sweet vanilla expressions and some grassy fruit notes. it is a little bit sharp, so the most dont like it pure. peppery.
mix it with juice. mild orange and passion fruit. 50/50. or passion fruit only.
thats great with ice and spatter of grenadine syrup.
6/10 for its great mixability with juice!

I basically enjoy this rum, but more for straight drinking or cocktails than sipping. The smell is strong sweet chocolate with weird odour of... leather, the taste is more on the sugary sweet side, bit edgy and harsh. Not suer excited with this one, but the product speaks quality, but the smell and taste is somehow torn between sweet rums and basic aged ones. But not either. In this its price category it is not my first nor second choice.

Great with Coke, but not so good as a sipper. Good Rum for the money.

This rum is mostly characterized by two notes - sweetness (molasses) and vanilla. The lack of any oak or "dark" notes makes is a bit too simply sweet for my taste, even if it's a decent sipper. Turns out it's actually a good mixer as well. While it's not a bad rum at all, you can get much more interesting stuff for the 35 € I paid for this.

Low cost rum, that is drinkable on its own. Why not?

Prijemna, lec nezrala, trochu ostra, nevyvanula chut

Voní po dřevu, kouři, trochu ovoce. V chuti je jemný, ne moc sladký.
