Malteco 15-Year

Excellent rum, especially combination with dark chocolate.

It has a almost sour scent but tastes sweet and spicy. Well balanced. Very similar to Zacapa.

Pour s'initier, apprendre à découvrir les saveurs, agréable, des notes vanillé, puis toffee, doux et rond. Le 20 est plus décevant car on en attends plus.

un rhum découvert par hasard...trouve sur le net a un prix très raisonnable pour un solera 15, ce rhum est doux, avec une belle note d'alcool. Caramel, vanille et miel font partie de ses arômes...a goûter d'urgence !!

We can compare this rum to the 23yo Zacapa and so did i.
It has a nice mahagony colour, in the nose a little sting of alcohol side by side with fruits and chocolate. The first sip: dark chocolate,delighting sweetness and again the little alcohol afterburn. Not as smooth as Zacapa 23yo but i might prefer that way. At least i know that i'm having a rum and not candy. Great rum and half the price of the Zacapa 23yo at least here in Europe. Not too common to buy tho.

Sweet aroma, sweet and smooth taste. Good sipper for reasonable price.

Velmi dobrý rum, mě osobně vyhovuje jeho mírný říz, a nasládlá chuť. A ještě výborný poměr cena/chuť.

The rum is best drunk pure without any diluting, if you like it less strong ice is permitted. It smells inviting and of caramel and sweet sherry. Very smooth and drinkable.

I tried all 3 of the malteco:s since i first tried the 15 years old and found it quite tasteful, and in my opinion is the 15 year old the best. It has a mild but yet complex taste. The finish is slow and the taste simply fades away, when you are drinking, the taste fills your mouth. The price is quite low for this bottle since it´s so rich in flavour.
