I had many trips to Cuba and always enjoyed Havana Club 7 yo. Up until now I did not try anything else except Cuban rum. Once I've brought from there Santiago de Cuba 11yo and have found it so smooth and delicius compared to HC. Since then I've discovered world is full of different rums ). Had tried 12 of them so far. And I will rate them comparing to HC as the base rated 6.

Edit:
Got the pair of 12yo plus 11yo from friend of mine. Tasting them both at the time.
The differenses are subtle, still noticible. 11yo more fruity, 12yo stronger, smoky and oaky. Aftertaste feels longer for 12yo. 11 is smother and sweetier.
The similarities are obvious: both are amazing, fantastic.

Viva Cuba! Rating them both 10.

Perfect warming drink after cold Canadian day (too bad I did not order the cigar)

Nose is strong yet has some dried plum quality to it if you are careful. Taste is not sweet at all and has a pleasant and long lasting vanilla and smoke dried plum aftertaste with a moderate numbing sting in the end.

I would say that this is a transitional option between a good and excellent rum. Good for drinking neat.

I only had a single pour and not much time to reflect. The flavor profile is overall one of fruity distillation. I get distinct cognac flavors. There's a long finish but it's very soft and mild. I get lots of butterscotch and some green vegetable flavors too. This is just a very nice rum and I'd be happy to have a bottle to enjoy...

I’ve had mixed luck with Cuban rums. Either they’ve been really nice or more on the disappointing side.

On the nose you get the standard tobacco but also raisins and cinnamon. The first taste is a strong woodsy taste but gives way to fruit and maple.

I rather enjoyed this one.

Mild, very smooth yet not sweet. Has a kinship with Havana Club that I assume is the Cuban style, yet noticeably a step up compared to HC7 which makes sense.
Smell has something brandy like about it - pretty soft and subtle.
Taste is an amalgam of slightly fruity vibes, wood, leather, tobacco and column still light aromatic flavours.
The finish is long with a subtle burn.

All up, it's easy drinking and lip smackingly dry. Probably a little muted for me, and though the extra age brings something to the party, I prefer HC7.

Okay men men ikke noget specielt, slet ikke 8,0 som den ellers får gns. Mangler eftersmag

En anelse skuffende. Jeg havde forventet mig lidt mere af denne rom både hvad angår duft og smag.

Both the taste and the smell are mild. Good aftertaste. With small sips you don't taste alcohol at all. Prike.ee 30€ bottle.
