Brugal 1888 Gran Reserva Familiar
Origine : R茅publique Dominicaine
40 %
750ml
Nez : Vanille, caramel, cannelle
Bouche : Vanille, caramel, bois br没l茅
Un go没t trop simpliste pour un rhum ayant pass茅 du temps en f没t de bourbon et x茅r猫s. Les notes de x茅r猫s sont presque inexistantes. Pas mauvais mais d茅cevant.

Similar to my Barbancourt 15, this is one of my favorite "sippables" in this price range....

If you have the room in your personal rum bar, this one is worth having...

This rum has no character or depth to it. There is nothing harsh about it - at least on the rocks. There is nothing really off putting. But there is also nothing at all that stands out in the least. Dry and very little sweetness which I do not mind at all but something is really missing and it is hard to say exactly what it is. I have tried a handful of rums from the D.R. and they are just all a disappointment except for Matusalem 18 which is a fine rum. Even Opttimus 25 was nothing spectacular. My D.R. rum journey has probably finished with this rum except for Matusalem 18 which I will buy again.

This is a very nice rum for the money. It's my go to rum together with Doorlys 12 year old for a good rum for the right price. Nice sipper neat, but also good with a cube of ice. Not too sweet, caramel, vanilla, nice tropical notes. Recommended.

packaging is very attracting which makes it good for a present but taste is not well balanced. alchool is dominant. not recommended to those after sweet and fruity taste. overall decent but not one of those i'd buy it again, i'd get 2 bottles of pampero aniversario for the price of one of this.

first impression is alchohol dominant taste, not much flavor has no character. i would not recognize the taste.

Tasted at Laka Lono on 11/6/22. Pours reddish amber. Honey and a mild oakiness to the aroma. Fruity and caramel. Leather notes. Medium thickness to the palate. Good, but should be better.

Not my style, quite fruity. It has a character. Did not enjoy sipping it.

Sampled at a friend's house. Was pretty impressed but didn't spend much time with it. Will eventually buy a bottle.

I love the sherry cask taste of this rum. It鈥檚 oaky and dry but a little sweet too. Good for mixing- not a sipping rum.

Smell: a bit alcoholic, grassy notes, molasses, vanilla
Taste: a bit more alcoholic than I like but still smooth, molasses, very dry, oaky, vanilla

Nice sipper but it鈥檚 more of mixer for me. Great for Cuba Libres
