Brugal 1888

Agree that this is dry, smooth and complex. It struck me as mildly woody with a very slight smoky flavor.

Ce rhum est un bon rhum de Mélasse qui se boit facilement.toutefois il lui manque quelque chose pour en etre fan.En effet les notes toffee et de gout sherry sont là .mais il manque de complexité et de longueur.A 36e a grauonline c est une bouteille interessante mais je prefere à ce prix un pasador de oro xo ou un millonario 15 ans qui ont un plus et surtout un presidente 19 ou 23 a 37e et 40e a grauonline.
La bouteille est par contre belle et fera un beau cadeau.

Nose: Vanilla, Caramel, very mild
Body: Pleasant and smooth with caramel tones, not so over-sweetened.
Tail: Balanced, mild, nicely,slowly developing
Bottle: under-average for a Rum of this age

I like this one, first Brugal which Ive had, but definitely an interesting one! I'm gonna have a bottle of this one

Very rich aroma of old wood's and very nice taste, same taste as the aroma.

En rigtig god rom, og sherry smagen fornægter sig ikke. Lidt for whiskyagtig til det kan blive til mere end et 8 tal.

Good rum to take with perrier water or only with ice,

Great rum, luxury looking bottle, nice colour and full spicy tase that heatens your throat a long after swallowing

Ve vůni příjemný, v chutí částečně sherry, sice není nasládlý typu Oliver, ale i tak zajímavý

Smak: delikatny posmak alkoholu, wyczuwalna nuta toffi i karmelu, a takze wędzonego drewna
Finisz: długi i bardzo aromatyczny, wyczuwalny dąb
Zapach: przyjemny, nie za mocny, tofii i dąb
Kolor: ciemno brązowy
Butelka: Fajnie stylizowana i zdobiona zlotymi elementami.

Unfortunately not so good as Brugal Leyenda, maybe I am too sentimental, but still recommended spainsh style rum. Those brugal rums are simple in taste, without many fruit flavours, but this works totally in Brugal Leyenda due to its smoothness, however 1888 for its price could have been better, still I think it is one of greatest rums I've tasted and best one from brugal right after Leyenda.

Final verdict: Maybe some day I will give it another shot
