December 2018 i MacY)

Enjoyed in rössli bar. Sweet melasse with character

A little bit expensive for what you drink but it is a nice rum. It could have been an 8 if it was cheaper. Strong alcohol kick in the start. small finish with notes of caramel and honey

Soft and sweet.
Complex but easy to drink
The taste is long and delicious.

A bit too sweet. A nice hint of exotic fruits but unfortunately the sweetness takes everything..

The color is a nice amber. The smell is pleasant and sweet. The taste is immediately sweet, maybe some hints of caramel but I am not sure. The flavour is a bit plain, there isn't much after the sweet. It is recommended for those who like sweet rums, but there are better alternatives. Still quite pleasant. Goes well with chocolate

I found it a bit plain, with a touch of sugar cane.

I had high expectations from the Rum National Panama 18 year old rum when reading all the good reviews about it, but having tried both the 18 year and the 21 year rums back-to-back, this is not good at all. Strong cellar flavor and smell is truly off putting. Stick with much better Ron Abuelo's from Panama, maybe coming from the same distillery, and you will be pleasantly surprised.

Good amount of sophisticated flavours but the 21 offers a better overall experience for similar price

Gummi duft. Tør eftersmag.

Posted over 3 years ago by Anders Skjødt Hansen from Denmark with 65 ratings

Duft: brændt gummi, appelsin og meget sprittet.
Smag: sød appelsin og meget krydret rom. Den slutter meget tørt i munden og slår over i brændt røget fad

On the edge of moving to smokey whiskey tastes. Soft with light alcohol edges

Nose: Smoky, leather, dried fruits - infact smokey raisins (if ever a thing existed). Burnt sugar, milky coffee, molasses and caramel. Some barrel char and oak. Under the fatter notes is a light trace of menthol, some watermelon and even grape flavour jolly ranchers.

Palate: A bit (not a lot) sweet actually on delivery, hmmmmm, shame. Medium mouth feel. Apricots, loads of oranges, flambed orange rind, dates, big fat and juicy raisins smoky tobacco leaf, barrel char again and some soft eating licourice. Some of those mixed caramelised nuts you get a Christmas time.

Finish: Medium. Some sweetness carried through. Bananas now, but those dried slices you get in musli etc. Starts to get spicy with pepper, ginger and clove. As things tail off there is a bit of a buzz and things get all flat. Not sure if this is because of any "additons" or something knocking things off centre from the cask blend.

Not so dark, sweet palate but no sugar, just good blend.
