Flor de Caña 25-Year

I updated this review, after an initial disappointment.

The first glass left me wondering what the fuss was all about, the second was not a success either.

But I gave it another shot... and I was not disappointed at all! Full bodied taste, and a real enjoyment. Beautiful deep amber color, and very good looking bottle and box.

The only bad thing is that I finished the bottle since then.

This is lovely. Smooth. It’s a quality bottle for a quality rum.

This was my first "expensive" rum, just a pleasure to taste.

Almost perfection. Great notes of caramel and smooth finish.

This feels and tastes like a true handmade rum. No added sugar or fancy tricks. Is it that much better than the 18-year old to justify the jump in price? Probably not to most people. And having grown fond of cask strength rums, I would spend my money on something else now. Still it is a bottle I am very happy to have in my collection.

Great nose, not too sweet but sweet, Carmel notes, vanilla, spice, lingering finish. Most expensive bottle of Run I have but worth a taste if you get the chance!

Very pleasant to sip, and the finish reminded us of hazelnuts.

Excellent! Perhaps a bit overpriced; but very tasty and extremely smooth. One of the smoothest rums I have ever had. So easy to sip straight.

A truly excellent Rum and Incredibly smooth. Great notes of caramel but a bit lighter vanilla notes than expected but still present. A bit on the pricey side but one of the top 5 Rums I have had.
