I live in the country of this drink's conception, Trinidad and Tobago, and had always wanted to try it. 18 years old and a few months, I bought a bottle for $112.00 TT ($16.00 US) and on first taste I would say it wasn't bad. But over time, as I added it to my coke, fruit punches and OJ over the course of 2 weeks, I grew to consider it great and delicious. An amazing scent and sweet, smooth taste.

Found this as a dusty bottle in a local mom & pop, got it heavily discounted as it had been sitting for a while apparently. At least out of the sun and heat though, got it for about $12.00, down from $20+, which is well over the average retail of $13-$15 it looks like. Worked for me.

Nose - ethanol. That's it. There's more on the palate though - Mildly sweet, some vanilla, light fruit and oak. Simple, and not at all unpleasant. A bit warm. All in all, far better than the nosing would have you believe. It does well in the Daiquiri, but not my favorite.

Not a lot of burn. A hint of vanilla. May update the ratings after I try it in a mojito. 😊

I am neutral about this rum. Eh.

Neutral alcohol taste. Few oak notes. Enjoy in your favorite rum based cocktail.

This is my first Angostura and it won't be my last. It's quite smooth with slight fruit notes. Not much of a burn. Works real good as a mixer with Coke Zero.

Tasted at Laka Lono on 7/18/21. Pours clear. Aroma of bananas. Mild. No burn. Fairly one-dimensional. Residual tongue tingle. OK, but nothing special. Flavors of sweet candy cane sans peppermint.

Previously, I rated Don Q Cristal as the best cheap white rum, but I think that Angostura White beats it out. Still, Don Q is 4 dollars cheaper. Honestly, this can give Diplomatico Planas a run for its money

Beau rhum blanc avec une note boisée. Très bon en ti-punch.
