Opthimus 18-Year

This is a decent rum. It drinks away good but I think it is to expensive for what you get in the bottle. The 25 year-old is much and much better!

Nice rum. Sweet taste of red fruits, caramel and great oak taste. Nearly no alcool taste, even if SOME PEOPLE here talk about "ethanol" !! You can buy this one without doubt. I bought it for 57€

Beaucoup d'arômes et d'effluves pour ce ron aux accents de bois. On ressent bien la canne à sucre.

This is one I had high hopes for. And it's ok, but definetly not a great one... Not worth the price at least.

It's alright but not great in any way...Average nose, average strength, average aftertaste, tastes of alcohol...
I won't buy it again.

This rum has character but still misses the mark a bit. Nose and palate are mostly the same: raisins or some other dried fruit, a touch of smoke, an easygoing sweetness but not overbearing, and woodiness. "Oak" is always sort of the default wood characteristic of a lot of rums and many other spirits, and for good reason, but for whatever reason, this one comes across as cedar, there's just something about it.

Overall: 6.4. It's a decent sipper but not one that screams the necessity to restock.
