Ron Esclavo 12-Year

Day 17 of my Rum Advent calendar. This rum smells really good (vanilla and caramel) but is too sweet for my liking.

Quite sharp after all, but unexpectedly long aftertaste.

Sweet taste with vanilla tones. Very good for the price.

Skvělý jemný rum, pokud máte rádi jemné sladší (nikoliv však sladké) rumy, už 12y za to stojí. Ostatní vyšší kategorie (resp. starší - 15y, XO, Cask) jsou ještě lepší, což nebývá vždy pravidlem.

Schöner Einsteiger Rum.
Nichts zu komplexes. Würzig, Fruchtig, minimale Süße im Abgang.
Auch günstiger Preis.

The nose is not very intensive but quite natural. I got some molasses flavor.
The taste is less sweet than at the XO. With some pepper. The balance is not bad. Quite interesting rum.

Smell: molasses, caramel, oak, dry fruits, wood, some pepper, vanilla
Taste: caramel, mandarine, burned sugar, some pepper
Spice: spice, burned sugar, mandarine

If you go for the Esclavo 15y or above you’ll get very good and tasteful rums. This is perhaps okay as an introduction to the brand?

... hope the big brothers (15yo and XO) are better.

I love rums of this kind..just rum with a little bit sweet in taste and very smooth..That is the way i like it.
