This was one of the first high end rums that was made in Venezuela (I think it started as Cacique Millennium), nice bottle, hand numbered very good rum to sip, love the wood finish although some people might feel is too much!

A typical "Hispanic" rum, sweetish, wine-content there, a bit thin and slightly average. In the world of essence-laden rums, it is not the worst offender.
i'm from Venezuela and have many years drinking ron cacique, and i can say it's one of the best rum in the world. Highly recommended

I bought a bottle of Cacique Antiguo during my vacation in Caracas last year based on well over a dozen local rums I had tried over there. Most of the contents were enjoyed with the local driver I had, kudos to his excellent services in Caracas. Diplomatico lineup is easily the best one coming out of Venezuela, good second is the Santa Teresa family of rums. Cacique Antiguo is the top of the line for the Caciquo family of rums, but unfortunately too harsh for my liking, much closer to a high quality cognac than a smooth aged rum.

Much better than the best from Santa Teresa. Hints of berries and fruit. Nice smoky flavor as well. Semi-smooth. Goes well with a couple of cubes of ice, and maybe a little bit of mineral water.
Equilibrado, color intenso, robusto, uno de los mejores rones venezolanos de gama alta

Delicious, some sweet and wood taste & it doesn’t feel strong and not hangover at all. Top premium, the best from Cacique
