This is a very nice, although very sweet rum. It will even appeal to many non rum drinkers with its smoothness and sweetness. Honey coloured and notes of vanilla fudge.

This one is pure gold for me. Free from the disgusting orange note that i have found in other riises. Rich in caramel and free from alcohol tastes.

This rum is sweet, smooth, and well-balanced. I compared it to several other A.H. Riise rums including Non Plus Ultra Very Rare, Founders Reserve, Haakon Reserve, Platinum Reserve, and Centennial Celebration, and of all these, this one is undoubtedly the smoothest. I really like it!

My first taste of a spirit from A.H. Riise. Heard and read a lot but never tried it myself.
Bottle no. 17662 from 35000. 42% should be inside.
Nose : Uhhhh, I know now, what people mean, when they say, that Riise-Rums are sweet.
There is a lot of sweet chewing gum in the air. Gummi bears. Cinnamon. And a little caramel. The sweetness makes you dizzy.
Palate : Original the Big Red Chewing Gum from Wrigley's. A sweet cinnamon bomb. heavy sweet. Never had such a sweet rum before. In addition honey, cherry, a little cappuccino in the back. Unique interesting taste I must say.
Finish : amazing long but likewise sweet. And very smooth.
Conclusion : I would say that this is a good rum for new entrants. The 42 % ABV are not appreciable (I cannot believe that there are really 42 % inside). No sharpness. But for me it's to sweet and I don't like cinnamon so much. Interesting but not more than points.

After my previous experience with A.H. Riise I wasn't looking forward to this bottle all that much but let's see. The "spirit drink made from premium matured rum" for the 175th anniversary of the A.H. pharmacy entails a blend of rums that matured for up to 21 years.
On the nose, the rum is quite strong. There is a strong alcohol burn connected to an elixir-like aroma. I can mainly smell cotton candy and oranges. But wait, there's more! I wasn't sure what it was at first but then the memories kicked in - Hubba Bubba. I can distinctly smell that pink chewing gum from my childhood.
When I got to actually taste the rum, my first two thoughts were - artificial and sweet. Despite that, the flavors just somehow worked. For me, the sweetness is on the elixir level, yet it is nowhere near stuff like Santos Dumont XO. I, personally, wouldn't really enjoy a rum sweeter than this. In terms of notes, there is definitely caramel, vanilla, nuts, and oranges, with some "bite" and bitterness reminiscent of, perhaps, black pepper.
The aftertaste is quite short and just continues on the bitter note of pepper.
Now, what I'm not a great fan of is the claim of this being a limited edition. First, and perhaps the smaller problem is that my bottle is supposedly 95th out of 2,000 but that is 2,000 bottles just for a particular batch. In my case, the batch is A20, so I suppose there are tens of thousands of these bottles. Second issue - this "limited edition" has been on the shelves for about a decade now. Still, there seems to be plenty of it left. That's some dishonesty that I don't like, although I do appreciate bottle numbering.
Finally, to the conclusion. I like the packaging and bottling - it looks nice. The taste is not something I would usually go for, but for those rare times that I crave a sweet rum, this works surprisingly well. There's also the "limited edition" claim but oh well, what can we do. After this, I rate A.H. slightly better in my mind than before.

Very good, the taste is not so far from Non plus ultra Black edition.

This is the fourth Riise I've tried and my goodness what a delicious drink once again. This time it may be a little more caramel-like instead of orange, but oh how delicious. It smelled a little sweet at first, but the first sip made up for a lot. A little spicier than for example the family reserve but still nice and sweet. I love it. A big fat 9!!!

complex tasting notes and espacially te taste of eucalyptus and menthol make this for me the best rum. best rum to accompony my cigars. the taste stays long and is sweet like all riise rums.

Mně to voní a chutná jako voňavý stromek do auta s vůni vanilky, hnus velebnosti, ale kdo má rád tunu karamelu a vanilky, které působí uměle tak tomu dá 10 bodů.
