Thanks so much for submitting a report. It has been emailed to the Rum Captain and will be actioned shortly.
A. H. Riise have risen in popularity in recent years, especially in my home country of Denmark, but the sad truth is, that this bottle have as little to do with rum as it has to do with Denmark.
Nose: Very sugary smell with notes of orange and a small hint of liquorice
Taste: Big load of sugar and caramel with small subtle hints of black liquorice and mocca
Overall: This is a very popular rum, but it is really not for me in any way. I simply don´t get the hype. It has little to do with both navy-style, Denmark or even rum in general.
Sweet rum with fine taste. Works good straight or in drinks. Perfect as a beginner rum.
There is a taste note in this rum I don't like but I still go and fill up the glas now and then so it must be better than I think
This is a solid rum, but definitely quite sweet. Almost a bit syrupy and holds this rum back. It is very smooth though and drinkable neat. Vanilla and orange notes come through. Not as complex as I'd like.
A.H. Riise er ægter dansker som er grundlæggeren af denne vidunderlige rom.
This is a very strong rum on 55%, the taste is fine.
At the first smell. I simply love this rum and all its characteristics connected with xmas feelings.
er stor fan af rom i den søde ende.
så for mig er det her en sand fornøjelse.
I really love this rum, it has the classic deep Riise taste and sweetness. A rum that will bring joy to everyone.
En flot mørk og god rom med en god eftersmag, meget sød.
The English had their Hot Water and Lemon. (Grog)
The Danish Navy preferred molasse. I preferre the Navy Strength 55%
The Danish naval hero Peder Willemoes is remembered with a beer added navy rum. Delicius
Very sweet but drinkable. Like candy. Maybe the cask strenght is better.
I do like the sweeter rom's but his one is just a bit over the top for me. It is still a good rum but I would habe likes it better if it was'nt as sweet. It also lags in the later taste notes.
This is my personal favourite from the old farmaceut.. Rich taste, good vanilla and almost none orange..
Dont get me wrong I love sweet rums - and AH Riise delivers just that. But unlike its older (and pricier) brothers; Family Reserva and Non Plus Ultra, there is not enough taste to negate the added sweetness.
Still its a OK rum for sipping, if you have a sweet tooth.
En härligt söt, tjock och smakrik rom. Passar mest till efterrätten.
It´s allso one of my favorite. (9,5 / 10)
OK , it´s a little bit to sweet
but the taste is so great for me .
If you like sweet sweet Rum , you must try this one.
Straight , on the rocks or with an good Cigar !
Nose - Great : Dark , sweet ,dark fruits ,chocolate, caramel , smoke .
Taste - Great : very sweet ,very rich, long and fruity ,coffee , sherry ,caramel , vanilla ,spicy , smoke, alcoholic note .
very long aftertase .
If you like orange this is your type of rum
En super sød og kompleks Rom. En god eftersmag!
Very good sweet rum, with a strong after taste.
Like this one alot better then Riise's regular reserve. The sweetness, though still very much there, is turned down a bit. There's more complexity and body. On the palate you find thick caramel, dried fruits, a hint of orange and licorice
