Séverin Blanc 59 is an Agricole from Guadeloupe. The distillery uses a Creole column, in which they distill their rum from pure cane juice grown on the island. The nose is powerful, fruity, earthy, dry and vegetal. After some resting in the glass it’s possible to detect pepper and citrus.
The palate is also powerful and it’s no doubt that this rum comes from sugar cane juice cause it’s shining through very clear. It’s also fruity and peppery.
The finish is rather long and goes on in the same way.
Overall a quite good Agricole Blanc that despite the high degree is rather round.
I’ve tested it in a Ti Punch and it worked very well.
Even if it’s not my favorite brand from Guadeloupe it’s good, but that goes for most of the rum from that island.
