i read a lot about caramel, toffee and butterscotch are the dominant aromas here, but for me alcoholic raisins, alcohol, and rotten wood are the defining flavors and with some good will I tasted some chocolate and caramel. This is not a great rum, for mixing ok, but a better mixing rum you can get for half of the price.
Avec ses 57,1% d'alcool, ce rhum decape completement les amidales, domage car il a bon gout
40% ABV. N: Strong coffee, caramel, and chocolate. Butter, but that might be the hot buttered rum ordered next to me... Nah, definitely buttery toffee. P: A but thin. Not as much flavor as the nose. The caramel's still there, but it's watery. With time, gets even more buttery. Where's the earth? Where's the smoke? Short finish.
Easy to drink, but over-diluted. Recommendation: Get the Hamilton 86 (or El Dorado 5, 8) instead.

Drinkable with decent flavour, better choices available for the price.
Obviously not in the same league as it’s 151 brethren; the wonderful nose isn’t carried through. A wonderful expression of Demerara as a mixer however.
Not a bad rum has a different taste and finish. Pretty good with coke
Chiar așa.. Un rom pentru bețivi :)) Dur, ușor aromat dar.. Fără subtilități, doar rom pur.. L-am băut cu gheață dar cred că în ceva mix-uri mai speciale e ok..
I was surprised at how smooth this run was, given some reviews I'd heard. Subtle citrus tastes hit on the tip of the first sip. Medium body rises to flavors of coffee and caramel. Washes down very easily. This rum is notably complimented with cola. Or rather it compliments the cola itself, much in the ilk of a lemon twist.
Great smell, similar to Diplomatico with cherry and caramel. Tangy, sour taste that I really didn't like. Grassy, peppery. Finish keeps getting more tart and lingers... in a bad way. Good amount of balanced spice, but doesn't compensate for the overall sourness.
Fruity Demerara nose chocolate covered raisins and a tiny hint of aniseed.
"The finish is very short however and leaves a bit of a tobacco like taste in the mouth."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Average tasting rum. Not overwhelming. Good priced quality.
