NR: Blend of Jamaica and ReUnion, very good one

Today I have an interesting blend of Artesanal with 61%. 444 g / HLPA ester suggest a fruity explosion. This blend is a composition of pot still distillates from Jamaica and La Réunion.
Burke's was an old brand from Jamaica founded 1878.
This is a tribute to the old blend.
Smell: Ice candies are immediately noticeable and that is clearly Savanna Herr. Basically it could also be a pure savanna, this rum is extremely strong and easily covers all other aromas. Ice candy, dust, some berries can be smelled initially. There is a fruit in the background, indicating Hampden. This is baked apple and a some pineapple.
Taste: Sweet, metallic (stainless steel) start with ice candy first and then many ester aromas of apple and pineapple. At first, the baked apple and pineapple spread quite a bit until the ice candies take over and clearly state whom the middle belongs to. This shifts to the finish, there are still ice candies and some berries, the fruit ester aromas are no longer strongly noticeable. The finish lasts forever.
Aftertaste: The ester aromas of the pineapple are becoming more and more present, you can taste both the apple and the ice candy with the red berries. After an eternity
Conclusion: Particularly sophisticated? For my taste, not really, because I have tried such things with ReUnion myself. But it's still well done and the relation of Hampden and ReUnion is balanced. It is still quite spicy and very fruity dominant. Unfortunately, it still tastes slightly metallic because it is not aged. A good mixer and a more interesting than a pure Savanna HERR 57%. By blending, it lost most of the berry flavors, but got pineapple and baked apple.
