Sweet Apple notes on the nose. Very dark cocoa, chocolate, tobacco notes on the tongue. Very rich. Absolutely delicious for me at least.

I bought this over a retailer in Switzerland for CHF 34.00 (USD and CHF are about equal at this time)
This was very disapointing...
My go to Rum (means: the cheapest Alcohol that I am able to enjoy... NEAT of course) is the Havana Club Especial. I order the Especial from the same retailer for CHF 26.00
The Angostura 7 is nowhere near from the taste and smell of the Havana Club Especial.

The nose is very flat: a little bit of wood and some cane sugar, nothing wrong but nothing pleasant for sure.
The taste is boring... quite alot of wood for a 7 year old and a little bit of cane sugar, very dry and a little bitter.
Finish is nearly inexisting... some wood, very dry, a little bitter, very little afterburn, which is the only thing that was better than the Havana Club Especial which have a little more afterburn...
Not worth the price at all.

I bought for the same price a bottle of Abuelo 7 (CHF 34.00) which is a premium rum...
instead of the rotating closure you get a cork closure.
Nose: intense, a little similar to the Zacapa 23 solera. A lot of molasse very sweet, a hint of wood but not dry and honey and vanilla in the back
Taste: smooth, pretty sweet, very harmonic. Very oily but not sirupy like HH Rise
Finish: not too long but very pleasant, honey, vanilla, oak. Not dry nor bitter. Very little afterburn...

Un rom tânăr dar plăcut.. Probabil în mix-uri e perfect pt banii ăștia..

It’s good and everything, but I feel like it could be so much better. Like they were really close but got one part of it wrong or cut one corner and ended up with average. Forgettable basically.

A good sweet rum, but lacking in depth.

The nose is soft and spicey, but doesn't reveal much mystery.

The flavor is pleasant, and a good sipper but quite dry. I would like to try some other Angosturas to see if they have more character. Still worth having on the shelf though, easily.

Loved it! Great dry sipping rum, complex flavors. Preferred it over several other higher end rums which tend to be too sweet.

I'm pretty easy when it somes to rum. Pretty much anything is drinkable...except this. I tried it with Diet Coke and it tasted a little off. Tried it again a few days later, still pretty bad. Had it again today, offered my wife some, and she thought it tasted like shoe leather. (Why she is familiar with that I do not know.) Her desciption is quite accurate. What do you do with extra rum? This is a new experience for me. Suggestions welcome.

Well balanced añejo, not too vanilla-ey or sweet. Great Cuba libre, and nice all by itself or with a cigar!

Overall this is a decent enough rum, albeit slightly overpriced. On the nose I didn't pick up much to catch my attention. The taste is more or less the same and I would consider this a base standard for a sipping rum. Hints of vanilla sweetness for me. Finish is dry and a bit rough IMO. Probably better as a mixer/low end sipping rum.

Un ron estándar que para mixear es muy bueno, en realidad hay mejores por el precio.
