NR: Very good Hampden, balanced, but not very complex

Today I have again an old Hampden rum in the glas.
It was not clear whether this is an Hampden or another rum.
Because no Hampden from 1997 was known before this bottling.
After trying this rum by some reviewers, it was revealed that it was actually a Hampden.
I get a balanced smell, one that is less intensive compared to Hampden 30 from The Rum Cask.
But it's also very beautiful. I have some impression of weakness, it should be a <>H from the smell. It's not too strong or spicy.
I get glue, pineapple, some acid or high ester notes, some grasy notes, melon, also some punkin and deeper in the glas some earthy notes. It's a little bit less complex than Hampden 30, but also very good.
The taste is stronger than <>H, it should be a C<>H. Not as complex as the Hampden 30, but still a good one. I get some salty notes first, then vanilla, the glue is rising, then I get pineapple. My mouth gets dry and this reminds me again of Savanna HERR. I have impression of dust.
In the middle I get glue, pineapple, then this rum turns spicy. After that I get malt, some acid and as the rum became sweeter -> mango.
The finish is a little bit spicy, the I get pineapple, malt and melon, in the end are some grasy notes.
The aftertaste is also very good, there is pineapple, glue, malt, melon and grasy notes.
This rum is not very complex, but balanced and tasty. It's a little bit better than Hampden Kill Devil 16y I think. I should do a cross tasting.
Hampden 30 is still better. I would rate this one with 90 points.
