Bellamy's Reserve 2016 Jamaica 4-Year

Bellamy's Reserve Jamaica is a blend of Long Pond and Clarendon Rums, which are 2-4 years old. The pot-style distilled rums were aged in old Caribbean barrels three more months. No sugar has been added. At 43%, the rum is bottled in the extravagant bottle of Bellamy's Reserve. An Eye Catcher.

In the nose, the rum is just great. Lots of esters and fruity notes make nosing a pleasure. The rum is lighter and fresher as my Hampden. Really fun. It is neither overly complex nor overwhelmed. There is a lot of fruit on the palate. Pineapple and mango. Ripe fruits. But also some sweetness and banana. Wood is rather little present. Some Virgin Oak is recognizable. The finish is not too sharp but something is missing here. The aromas are gone very fast.

For less than 40 euros it is a great rum, which you can drink well with some good friends, because it stands out but does not demand too much attention. Price performance is top. Can be bought without tasting it.

Die im Pot Stil destillierten Rums wurden in alten karibischen Fässern drei Monate nach gereift. Es wurde kein Zucker hinzugefügt. Mit 43% wird der Rum in die extravagante Flasche von Bellamy's Reserve abgefüllt. Ein Hingucker.

In der Nase ist der Rum einfach nur toll. Viel Ester und fruchtige Noten machen das Nosing zu einem Genuss. Leichter und frischer wirkt der Rum im Gegensatz zu einem Hampden. Macht wirklich Spaß. Dabei ist er weder übermäßig komplex und überfordert daher auch nicht. Am Gaumen kommt viel Frucht. Ananas und Mango. Reife Früchte. Aber auch etwas Süße und Banane. Holz ist eher wenig präsent. Etwas Virgin Oak ist erkennbar. Der Abgang ist nicht zu scharf und hier fehlt dann doch etwas. Der Rum verabschiedet sich zu schnell.

Für unter 40 Euro ein toller Rum, welchen man gut in einer geselligen Runde trinken kann da er auffällt aber nicht zu viel Aufmerksamkeit fordert. Preis Leistung ist top. Kann man Blind kaufen.
