I'm just kind of getting into rum drinking, and this is not what even I would consider rum... more like a liqueur. It's pretty tasty - very sweet, with vanilla and mellow cinnamon. Low alcohol content, but worth keeping a bottle handy!
Very sweet but great for mixing with other stuff. Mix with Fireball whiskey for a nice drink.
Typically I don’t purchase this class of liquor but decided to give it a go nice for after dinner that many may find suitable.
I love this stuff, it’s like a rum drinkers version of baileys
Cinnamon, vanilla, and sugar flavor. It’s good to have on hand if making a desert drink.
I love horchata, so I thought having it with rum would be awesome. Great idea, poor execution. I couldn't detect much cinnamon or other spices. Come on, that's what makes horchata taste so great! It was mostly a plastic-y cream flavor. This stuff tastes really weird and unpleasant. Not recommended unless you enjoy nausea.
The taste is cloyingly sweet.
"The nose is super sweet with heavy notes of refined white sugar and a hit of Cinnamon."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I tried my first bottle of this stuff a few months before submitting my first review here. I have been debating on whether or not to even submit it because it is really tough calling it rum.
Mexican horchata is made from milled rice, vanilla, cinnamon, and a few other ingredients such as things called "tiger nuts". And yes, that is what Rumchata tastes like, heavily sweetened horchata with some cheap rum added to it. The initial taste is quite appealing and fits the ingredients to a T. It is way too sweet at 95 gpl of added sugar. And wouldn't you know that Rice Dreams Horchata has 100 gpl of added sugar, so adding a little bit of dry rum brings down the added sugar content while adding alcohol. The after taste is what ruined it for me because it is like it is also loaded with tannins that leave a very dry taste in the mouth. I tried to get over this horrible aftertaste, but could not and swore to never buy another bottle. One would be better off buying a quart of Rice Dreams Horchata for less than $5 US and then adding their own preference of dry rum to suit their own ABV percentage. I ranked Rumchata near Captain Morgan Original Spiced and Kraken Black Spiced to arrive at my rating of 4. I have had worse.
However, as a few others have said, this could keep the wife or the girlfriend away from your really good rums, so you may need to keep it on hand. Supposedly, it does not need refrigeration.
