Like this taste Soft smooth.
It’s very sweet and balanced with a lingering finish of vanilla and sherried oak.

I like it very much, it is sweet, but I like that.

Not as good as the dark rum, but for the price it is a great purchase. Also great tour if you are in the Keys. Nothing artificial included.

Vanilla bomb! Pretty new to the rum world, but this is such a tasty spirit.

Clear, as one would expect
Aroma: smokey, herbal
Flavor: rock candy sweet, and I mean this. It's like Christmas candy in rum form.
Other flavors: aloe, burnt caramel, orange 🍊
Sue says this smells like a lovely candle

Spanish sherry cash pot stilled smooth not as sweet as brown. Sugar, sherry, brown cow taffy

Sampled at Sloppy Joes. Almonds, vanilla, honey sweetness. Slightly yellow in color. Big vanilla aroma. This was surprisingly my pick of the Pilar flight I had.

A smooth blond rum with a primarily vanilla flavor. A bit too sweet for some tastes.

I have trouble with what to think of this rum. From what I've read online, they claim no additives yet after tasting I have a hard time believing that. The taste to me is overwhelmingly maple syrup, and quite sweet/cloying on the palate in general. I overall do enjoy it for what it is, but certainly not my favorite. If you can get it for mid-$20s have at it!

This rum was definitely smoother, but less complex than other rums. It definitely had honey and vanilla notes, but I definitely don't think it's worth it at its price point. There are better options for cheaper, particularly for cocktails.

In 1943 Hemingway received permission from the US war department to hunt Nazi U-Boats with his yacht the “Pilar”. This is all true. He carried an assortment of rifles and figured he and his son would take some shots at the conning tower after reporting them to the US Navy. Fortunately for his son, they never spotted any. However, I am quite certain that the rum was flowing on those trips. This rum isn’t as good as the 7 year but it is still DAMN GOOD. A little on the sweet side. Lots of vanilla. Smooth and robust. Plenty of punch too. Unlike Hemingway’s Nazi hunter yacht!
