Easily consumable in a bind
In the aroma: tobacco, soot, sulfur, earthiness, bananas, rancid eggs. The taste is tart, tan, wood and tobacco. The finish is sweet tobacco, cinnamon, papaya, pomegranate.
Eigentlich eine volle Enttäuschung:
Ich finde den 12 Y "cigar" ganz ok.
Aber irgendetwas stimmt mit diesem Rum nicht.
Vielleicht liegt's an der Abfüllung.
Actually a full disappointment:
I find the 12 Y "cigar" quite ok.
But something is wrong with this rum.
Maybe it's the bottling.
With licorice and some oak in the nose, this rum starts off weel enough. But it does not confirm on the tongue, where the alcoolic burning takes over much too quickly. And there is absolutely no finishing. Might as well be some cheap whisky.
Not typically rum-sweet (which I liked for a change), a bit floral and... soapy. This smell/taste brought me back to 1992 when I worked in a hotel in Switzerland, where they had a soap that smelled almost the same. I was a great time, maybe that's why I give this Coruba 6/10 where someone else would give it less points.
