Rum tasting during 14th month of global lockdown continues onwards with Plantation Panama 2007 Champagne Maturation. Traditionally nice and high end packaging, bottle and label design. Light golden color. Nose is very fruity and plenty of grapes. Palate is like drinking 92 Proof Champagne. Rum flavors have all but disappeared. Not bad, unique for sure, but not my new favorite.
It is not that often you see rum matured in Champagne cask. This one is with
Tropical ageing 10 years in bourbon cask
Continental ageing 2 years in Ferrand cask and furthermore finished 1 year in Champagne cask. Nose is Apricot, vanille, caramel, grape and wine with muscat tones.
Palate, sweet, you can actually feel and taste boble Champagne together with vanille and lemon pepper. It feels like even though it’s with abv 46 it feels light and a bit easy sipper for my taste, but not bad at all.
