Unlike most spiced rums these days, which seem to wan to hit you over the head with a baseball bat of two or three flavours - typically a fruit, clove and vanilla - this one is rather more subtle. It's on the sweet side and not as tangily tasty as Rebellion - which is my favourite, though that is also more sweet and full on than this.
There's a fair bit of vanilla to the fore and some cinnamon and general light spice. I found it worked excellently with Dr Pepper and very well with coke and cherry coke, but I'm guessing it would also work with orange, lemonade or ginger beer.
Above all, what I like about this is it's rather more subtle take on spicing.

I like the taste. Good rum you can drink in the evening. Price is reasonable too.

What to say about this elixir...
A taste trully unique. A rum by its own kind that cannot be compared to another one. I can't even describe or seperate the aromas, tones and tastes... Just buy it, especially in that low price. My wife loves it, my friends loves it... If you like rum then you will receive only joy.
Note: dont buy just one bottle because you will drink it sooner than you can imagine

This rum is very enjoyable, it is smooth and quite sweet but not overly sweet. Very easy to drink over ice or with coke.

Very nice and smooth taste, vanilla is to my liking. One of the rums I keep always on shelf. Goes well with coke, but it really doesn't need it.

Rum zakupilem wraz z bayou single barrel, i oba są ciekawe z tym, ze ten jest po prostu rumowy, jest przyprawowy i slodszy ma mily smak, pijalny, kobiecy, lekki. Ciut przysłodki, nic wybitnego ale mozna juz pic na czysto

For the price, the flavour is not bad at all however there are far better options out there.

This is a very balance mixture spicy with individual note of vanilla flavor
Very nice spiced rum especially for the price great rums all together by bayou rum I have great things to say about all of them.

It's beyond incredible. It's so well blended and balanced. Straight it tastes amazing and in coke it tastes amazing. It's sweet but not over powering. I drink rum for the sweet, if I wanted dry-licking leather boots flavor I would drink scotches. The smell from the bottle is nothing interesting, it honestly smells exactly on the dot like Admiral Nelson's. In the glass it didn't do anything special either. It was much like any other rum, the oak-ethanol smell. Drinking it straight I was beyond surprised. Smooth isn't the word here. It comes in, says hello tongue and the tongue says hello back. They great each other shake hands and dance a little and down it goes. Where you get some spice from the pepper. Which is so ungodly fresh tasting it is mind boggling how that is possible. I am not talking kroger pepper here I mean the type you grow pick and eat yourself in the same day. That is how fresh tasting it is. In diet coke it is much the same, a very distinct flavor. Almost on the dot to sweet southern tea with some spice to it. The 20$ you pay for this is mind boggling. I have had my fair share of 15+ year old rums and they even at that age struggle getting their rum smooth. This is like something you could give to a mikes hard lemonade drinker and have them not even flinch from the alcohol. Yes it is that good. I don't think anyone will be beating/competing this rum's quality for at least a decade.
