This company used to be called Rank Wildcat Spirits and produced a fantastic aged rhum agricole from Louisiana. They have changed their name and improved on some already great rums.

My first aroma and taste of this one was super refined molasses. However, the tasting notes indicate pipe tobacco (which I will agree with) and some exotic ancestral hardwoods grown on their land for three generations (I won't even guess what those were). There are also notes of white oak and vanilla, which are found with most rums aged for 5 years like this one. Something also tells me that this one is cane syrup based, but I would have never guessed.

All in all, this is a very unique craft rum that stands in a class by itself. It is well worth the $32 US that I spent on the bottle today. It wound up tasting better than a rum that I spent more than twice that amount on.
