PLANTATION RUM BARBADOS ONE TIME EDITION

The orange zest is quite dominant in this rum. It's a bit in the direction of Jamaica and it reminds me a bit of the One Time Edition from Jamaica.

Smell: A start with orange zest, some wood, vanilla, slightly bright fruit aromas like ripe melon. Not overly intense but good. The smell could go a bit in the direction of Mount Gay, but MG has less orange zest and mostly a lot more wood.

Taste: Not very intensive start but the 51% work fine. Same as in the nose, orange zest, some wood, vanilla, slightly bright fruit aromas like melon. The rum seems slightly diluted to me. That's not bad, but Jamaica Edition feels more intense with a little less abv.
The finish is not very spicy, I get also the orange zests here with slightly wood and Vanilla.

A good rum for a good price. It's behind the Jamaica one time edition. It's also younger of course and lacks complexity. The taste is nice and natural. Would rate that one with 81 points.

Thank You so much Rhum Attitude for providing a proper rum tasting during the 16th month of global lockdown. Tasting continued onwards with Plantation Barbados 2011. Usual high end bottle and label design. Light hay color. Strong oakiness mixed with mild banana and mild vanilla to your nose and palate when neat sipped. Very short ending.
