Mount Gay Black Barrel

The classic coconut on the nose. The taste is dry oaked coconut with a short pop of toffee, which quickly subsides. A tiny bit harsh in the alcohol for the proof, but still a very nice rum if you appreciate a "real" Barbados rum.

Lidt for sprittet til min smag, dog en rom man sagtens kan have i samlingen.

This was my first bottle of Mt. Gay, light on the Molasses, baking spice notes and astringent qualities.

Zvyseny obsah alkoholu je na rume poznat. Chut je fajn, ale rum je trosku stiplavejsi. Ale fajn na pomale usrkavanie.

I have had a few Mount Gay rums and they all are a bit too mild on the nose and mouth for my liking. My younger tasting colleague with a more sensitive nose and mouth also finds it too mild.

I prefer my rum to taste like rum and not whiskey/boubon. To me it just had too much of a whiskey taste for my liking.

Gutes Mittelmass, sicher für gute Drinks geeignet.
Pur gut trinkbar allerdings nicht so gut wie der XO.

Røget på tungen, sød i duft og fyldig eftersmag. God til dem der normalt nyder whisky.

It's not quite the XO, so I'd recommend paying a little more if you're looking for a neat sipper in the style of aged scotch, etc. A little harsher on the palate, this would be an excellent bar choice for any recipe calling for an aged bajan rum.

Nice bottle received as a gift. Must blend with coke since there’s a small after burn.
