Look, if u want a nice rum to mix and enjoy a session on this may be for you.

I personally found it average, a mixer is a must. I wouldn't buy it again, for the same price you can get a better rum from a lesser known brand.

Appleton Signature is a great option for cocktails that need a blend of rums. You get a mild, but present, funk that doesn't overwhelm the uninitiated. It's not going to blow your mind, but it's great for the price and it is good in its role.

Very mild overripe banana funk on the palate before nice toffee and stone fruit-y notes take over. In cocktails, the funk all but disappears while the rounded toffee and slightly spiced apricot flavor takes center stage. The finish is pretty bitter and uninteresting for me. Overall it's definitely not bad, but I wouldn't reach for it over other Jamaican mixers like Xaymaca (more fruit) or Appleton 8 (more depth).

It doesn't distinguish itself from other similar rated "6" rum and misses the mark as a decent sipper. Where it shines is as a mixer and then provides a good value.

One of my go rod for a good session with friends. golden, Approachable on the palate. Golden toffee tones over fresh, tropical notes and limes. Perfect neat or mixed with a little ginger beer

I'm not one to pull out specific flavors yet but I will say this, it's really really good. Smooth, sweet, very tasty neat.

Not an Appleton fan and Ive tried many of their blends.
Ok with a cola.

I recently tried Appleton Signature Blend . It was a very good sipping rum. While I generally prefer to stick to dark rums, I will be drinking this one again.

What can I say? This is a classic, entry level rum. I always found Appleton Estate to stand out when using it as a mixer. This rum and coke is seldom beat.
As a sipper I would prefer something more complex, but it still has it's own character if you choose to use it as such.

Nose and taste seems to me very similar. Mostly tangy grapefruite with a burned caramel aftertaste, not much complexity. There is some reminiscent of what whiskey drinkers would identify with iodine of an Islay style. People who like Oban whiskey will probably enjoy this one too.
