Uitvlugt 1998 Tamosi Karaya Port Mourant 22-Year

starts floral, becomes woody with pine raisin.
taste is pretty hot, 61% is quite a lot of alcohol and it does show. It reminds me a bit of older grappa. There is also peppermint, very tasty dram.

This rum made me love the Port Mourant still. Was lucky to sip some of this stuff during a tasting. Explosion and journey of flavour in the mouth. Starts of fruity and demerara rich, turns woody and herbacious and ends with a wonderfull spice notes. One of the best rums I've had so far. Shame there are no more bottles to be found.

I am surprised how smooth this rum is considered it’s 61abv. All the right notes are to be found here for typical Port Mourant Uitvlugt. Wood, Star fruit and glue what a combi and what a nose and with explosion og flavours carried out from the nose to the mouth. I could sip all night.
