Black Strike rum is distilled by Forty Creek distillery in Ontario Canada. They make superior Canadian Whisky. In fact I believe they distill the finest whiskey in the Western Hemisphere. I was supervised to see a rim offering from this fantastic distillery. I was not surprised that it is excellent. Super clean and smooth. Some light simple syrup and botanical notes. Beautifully balanced bite. Even a little bit of a finish! Almost unheard of in white rum. I love dark rum. To me, rum is for sipping, not mixing. Therefore 8 is the highest I allow myself to score white rum. Thus is the 3rd best white I have ever had closely behind Plantation 3 star and Rumbar Silver. Nice even as a sipper but would make a top shelf mixer.
