Slight spice flavor

Interesting rum medium amber hue, not a lot on scent, slight alcohol presence. Taste surprisingly like Captain Morgan Private Stock but this is not supposed to be flavored. Little citrus and oak noted. Overall it’s a pretty good rum, not to complex but pleasing to drink.

In addition to Abuelo, Malteco and Malecon, there is also less known Panama brand La Cruz. The smell and taste is strong and it pays off to let it breathe a bit. The nose is typical Panama, white oak, vanilla and tobacco, all repeated in the taste, the taste adds chocolate notes, the aging in bourbon casks gives the rum pronounced oaky aftertaste. Nice one, well worth the money.
