Admiral Rodney Extra Old 12-Year

I was a little bit disappointed, I felt vanilla but I didn't find a great noise nor taste

nothing nasty with this I was just expecting more going on the reviews
To be honest I just finished sipping a glass of Ron Cartavio XO so I guess my palette has been conditioned to the earlier

Nose stong vanilla and slight citrus/floral
taste initial alcohol took over the tongue and had to search hard for the notes of vanilla and citrus
second and third sipps more alcohol and somewhat metallic citrus followed by vanilla
with ice the sharp burn subsides however this is one that id be happy to leave out on the table to be used as I wont be in hurry to buy another
as I said its not a bad rum just not memorable compared to pusser's 15,diplomatico 2002 ,quorhum 30

À $90 la bouteille, je m'attendais à un WOW! Mais il n'en est rien, puissant et sec sans être très sucré, on est loin d'un Vizcaya qui est dans la même braquette de prix, mais il faut cependant aimer le sucre! Je préfère un El Dorado 12 ans à cela et on est à $35!!

On the nose: Very sweet! Very strong aromas of maple syrup and vanilla. I don't think I've ever smelled a rum with quite so much maple syrup character.

In the mouth: Taste to match: very sweet. And not overly smooth. I'd compare this rum to Papa's Pilar Dark (which I'm also no fan of) and Zacapa 23, though I find even Zacapa to be more interesting than the Admiral.

If sweet's your thing, go for it. But for me, it's a bit of a let-down.

Nothing amazing but not a bad rum, just not noteworthy in any way.

The aroma level is quite low, soft all around taste, hints of caramel, hints of spices (pepper?).

I thought it had a little to strong alcohol taste. But ill give it a few more chanses. Love the bottle.

Had it after a Clement. Not so dry which was an improvement but still not my type of rum.

Jedná se o směs až 12letých rumů, které separátně zrály v sudech po bourbonu z amer. dubu od Jack Daniels, Jim Beam a Buffalo Trace.

Aroma: Vanilka, v pozadí mandle. Od Princessy se příliš neliší
Chuť: Nasládle kořenitá
Dozvuk: Špetka vanilky a dřevo. Ultrakrátký, plytký, vodový
Sladkost: 0/3
Ochutnán vzorek, 27.1.2021, porovnán s HMS Princessa
Ve vůni je skoro stejný jako Princessa, i když ne tak výrazný. Nicméně v chuti a hlavně v dozvuku je plytký a jakoby zředěný vodou. Špatný rum to vyloženě není, ale v porovnání s Princessou velmi zaostává.
