This rum, Montebello R1963 Blanc, from the Carrere Distillery in Guadeloupe is a blend of two different Montebello rums, the cuvée brut de colonne Bolokos (red cane R579) and the cuvée parcellaire Winch (white cane R570).
After blended it was brewed and rested for 7 months before bottled in only 787 bottles.
In nose it’s round, fruity and vegetal.
In mouth and at the palate aromas comes back as tastes complemented with spices, citrus and sweetness with hints of nuts, licorice and some oiliness. The two latter especially during the rather long finish.
Overall an extremely round and smooth rum with typical Montebello aromas and tastes.
Pictures: My emptied sample together with a poured glass and my unopened bottle.
