Libations Spiced

Always happy to try locally made rum, and this was a nice treat.

Bitter citrus, clove, with a nose of heather and honey.

The flavour pallate is curious and interesting, but the rum itself lacked a little character that you would normally expect from a Caribbean rum. It almost has a slight vodka burn as the flavour dissipates quite quickly leaving little aftertaste.

Certainly worth a try and this will most likely be drunk mixed, kicking a botanical infusion into your cocktails.

Personally I prefer bolder flavours in rum. I am also not a huge fan of honey in rum, and while in Libations, its merely a faint whiff, with no sweetness.. id prefer caramel, molasses, aricole, toffee, and butterscotch flavours with a slight sweetness to give the drink some legs.

No even gonna lie, I might even mix this with a good quality mid range dark rum, and see what happens, the flavour profile is impressive, but the rum vessel body lacks that magical rummy flavour I love.
