This rum has a great smell when first opening it. After first taste theres a lot going on, but its not horrible, not harsh, and not funky. But there is a lot of flavors happening. I could taste a bit of oak, and maybe a hint of vanilla. Tastes fresh and clean with a smooth finish.
The 12 gives you hints of vanilla & toffee with a heavy Clove finish that is slightly bitter and very dry. Definitely Not a sweet rum. Has a slight burn to it. As a rock melts and it airs out, it definitely mellows out, but still leaves the back of your throat with a heavy warming sensation. I’ve had better and had worst. Just another mid grade rum that’s about $5 overpriced.
A nice tasting rum with plenty of flavour. A bit on the sweet side, so those who prefer less sweet tasting rums will probably not like this as much but I realy enjoy it. Worth the 8 stars for sure.
unabashedly sweet, but stops short of being overpowering. loads of full desserty flavors like vanilla, orange, and toasted almond, with a gentle balancing note of toasted oak. not quite as complex as the very best, but a fine sipping rum nonetheless.
Aye, say what you want about 12 year-olds, there be a maturity to this rum. She has a bit of a sweet smell about her, but not syrupy sweet, with caramel, some vanilla, and a touch of oak. As taste goes, she be even less sweet, but not dry! There be a decent amount of sweet in this one, and the caramel, vanilla, and oak come along on board as well. There be a healthy amount of spice in this one, and t'would seem some manner of sweet fruit. This be a smooth and flavorable sippin' rum, me hardies. Be sure to hide THIS one from the crew...
Really solid aged rum. I had low expectations because I can find this in most grocery stores, but wow it is good. Priced right, easy to sip. This is a great starter for novice rum sippers. Lots of flavorful notes that are easy to recognize.
Sweet and smooth. Pairs very well with muddled espresso and chocolate bitters
Definitely on the sweeter side, but it does not suffer a great deal for it.
A great mixer for any drink you want to add very few ingredients to.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

The rum is smooth enough to sip however the flavor of it is just different than most rums I've tried and in a negative way for me. There is a bitterness that I'm just not enjoying as much as I would like to. I won't be buying another of these beautiful looking bottles.
Update: I like some sweetness in my rum and this is dominated by bitterness. I keep tasting it but then I make a bitter face and say "blehhh" after every sip. I really wanted to like this one but I just don't. The bottle I got was on sale and I'm almost convinced it was a bad batch or something based on everyone else's reviews here. I will continue to revisit this rum and update accordingly.
