A single cask rum aged 21 years distilled 1998 bottled 2019 at 52%. Initial note is it’s very light for a Guyana rum especially aged 21 years. 100% column still no added sugars. Having hard time warming up to this one much more fruit and floral forward flavors than I used to with Demura rums. Will revisit again.

1998-2019 (20y) Demerara.

This is another kind of Enmore still with a lot of herbs and pencil shavings. I tasted it now for the third time and I got a good understanding of this rum.
This one can easy compete with agricole. It's has so much herbs and grasy notes, I can't believe it's made from molasses. But it's clearly an Enmore.
This bottling was distilled in 1998 in the French Savalle Still, an old column still. The plant can produce nine different styles of rum, from light to heavy, the so-called heavy bodied rum.
This single barrel is a medium-heavy rum that has developed grasy and herbal aromas.

A grasy nose with parfumed notes is my first Impression. There are clearly the typical pencis shavings. The nose is light with a lot of herbs, anise, orange peels, grasy and floral notes. I miss some intensive molasses aroma, but that's ok for now.
The taste is more intensive than the nose, with anise, citrus, parfumed notes and orange peels.
Some beeswax and pencil shavings are also there.
Good stuff, never had such one before in the pure French form before.
I would rate it with 84 points.

I mixed this one with El Dorado 1993 and got almost the Rum Nation 1997 Enmore nose. Now I have much more flavors in the nose. The taste became much better, strong, intensive, balanced but a little bit too wody and spicy. These two fits together and with both we can create a much better Enmore.

Smell: citrus peels (like in a cake), herbs, anise, pencil shavings, orange peels, grasy and floral notes, pepper/citrus, mint, vanilla, wood
Taste: light sweetness, anise seeds, parfumed notes, citrus, ginger, herbs, white fruits (melon), flowers, beeswax
Middle: anise, pencil shavings, dry mandarine peels, some spice, orange, vanilla, floral parfume
Finish: spice, citrus, melon, dry mandarine peels

Sweetness: 1.5/5
Fruits: 2.5/5
Spice: 2.5/5
Mildness: 4/5
Value (80€ for 0.5l): 3.5/5

This Rum Artesanal bottling is a rum from Guyana, from the Diamond Distillery, which was produced in 1998 in the Savalle Column Style and was then stored continentally in American oak barrels for 20 years. The rum was then filled into 356 bottles as a single cask at cask strength of 52% alcohol without additives.

The rum is very fresh and fruity on the nose. The citrus fruits dominate, especially the orange peel. There are also herbs and lots of spice. The rum has a medicinal effect with fennel and anise tea. The whole thing reminds a lot of the Christmas herb candies from the Christmas market. On the palate the rum is dry and spicy with nice herbal notes. The orange is there, but fully captured by the cask. The middle has some sharpness, with oak and anise. There are also bitter substances, which become more intense towards the end. The finish is bitter with spice and fresh herbs. The rum stays dry.

An interesting rum with a clear profile. If you like a good citrus/herbal mix, this is the place for you. The nose is more convincing than the palate, which was taken a little strongly from the barrel.
