The rum is very smooth, but at 60% you need to sip slowly to thoroughly enjoy.
While it’s not my best, it isn’t very far from being there. I want to experiment with adding some water to lower the ABV and see if the palette improves.

To me this seems something like the ideal rum. It is the best presentation of the spirit genre I have come across yet, and despite its high ABV it is absolutely delectable, making you come back for more. The notes in themselves are not different from the Premise or Sagacity Foursquare bottlings - perhaps with the cola note turned a bit down, but it seems to harmonize perfectly in this rum. Unlike certain acquired taste rums, this one is just straight up conventionally tasty, without being sweetened, spiced or watered-down. If someone could direct me to a better rum I would be very pleased, but as for now this stands as the pinnacle of distilled sugar cane.

I’m new to this but what I can tell you:
Huge pop of mouth coating salted caramel. So good

Rum is a punch in the face. Hot, bourbon, woody, but with a ton of fruit, vanilla, and ruminess to balance it out. Intense but delicious

My first ECS. Great rum! High voltage, but it is interesting taste adventure. Dry wood and deliciois vanila.

I like this one more than the Nobiliary. Easy to drink. Toffee, chocolate, luscious fruit on the palate.A beautiful rum.

Coming to this rum from bourbon was a natural step. This rum has a great aroma and color in the glass. I get very warm sugar notes and complex taste on the palette. The finish is long-I think it must be related to the proof.

All in all, I highly recommend this rum. The only reason I did not give it a 10/10 is due to my limited experience with rums in general.

This is my second Foursquare and again it is an outstanding experience.

The smell is mild and rich with aromas of dried plums, vanilla, coconut and leather.

On the palate it unfolds aromas of honey, vanilla, toffee, dried apples, black pepper and a hint of glue followed by a long lasting finish of burned caramel, bitter orange and some licorice.

Despite the high ABV and the 12 years of tropical ageing it is not overly heavy and has a pleasent burn without being harsh.

It is a rich and wonderful rum for a relaxed winter evening, like a little fireside in your glass.

Incredible. From aroma to finish. Vanilla, barrel, dried fruit. Beautiful Rum.
