This JM rum is truly exceptional.
The Rum is well balanced, complex.

We smell wood, sweet spices, tobacco, chocolate and cocoa and red fruits.
On the palate I find it a bit like an old whiskey, it’s dry and complex.
It’s an amazing sipping rum. I bought a bottle a few years ago for around 50 € now I find it sold way too expensive 100 € a bottle.
Not a Rum for beginners

Back in mid-April, I bought a bottle of this rhum agricole aged for 10 years in bourbon casks for $110 US. This is about twice the price of their XO. It was so good that it did not even last a month. Their XO may be the best buy, but this one is still damn good.

Update August 6, 2021: I am now on my third bottle. I would say that I like it a lot! I have bumped up my rating from an 8 to a high 9. This is one damn fine rhum! The excess char was removed from the barrels before aging the rhum, which is why this one is close to perfection. But somehow, these rhums are not collectible despite being much better than most of the Foursquare ECS rums. Go figure! At least there is a plentiful supply of this one where I live and I don't mind paying $110 per bottle.

This rum smells sweet and toasted.
Tastes of sweet oak and fruit, tobacco, and finishes long. Light bite but not much. Almost perfect.
