The Coconut variety of Blue Chair Bay rum is produced in Barbados. The distillery is located just yards from the beach, while the rum is aged nearby in white oak casks.
Well known country singer Kenny Chesney created the The Blue Chair Bay rum brand, which is named after his ballad "Old Blue Chair."

Let me tell you, I love rum. Rum is life. Started with Malibu and am now at real rums (Diplomatico, Plantation XO etc.) Those rums are perfection. I am shocked and in awe that this rum is as cheap as a 750ml Malibu (California). Thank you Kenny Cheney for this fabulous concoction.
Let me tell you guys, this stuff is amazing mixed, neat or on the rocks. Its smooth like water with zero burn, Tastes like coconut and rum without being overly sweet. I bought it to up my Rum and Coke game but I now feel bad every time I destroy this beauty with coke.
I have one regret about this drink..... That I didnt find it earlier. Absolutely sublime
Very sweet and delicious. The coconut is not overwhelming. A great shot !!!
I truly regret purchasing this rum. I only picked it up at the suggestion of a liquor store employee. I'm sure it's fine when used in some fancy mixed drink. But, I think I'll stick with my faves. As always, I prefer my rum over ice with a healthy splash of Coke.
This is my new go to coconut rum. It taste like the Caribbean. I give it a 10 on the flavored rum spectrum.
I have sampled lots of coconut rum and this is hands down the best on the market. Would love to visit the distillery.
No shoes no shirt no problems, the most beautiful woman in the world next to me in a blue chair on a beach, glass of good rum, Tommy Bahamas shorts, a Cuban cigar and a beautiful sunset with some country music playing in the background.
Enjoyed a bottle of Blue Chair Coconut rum with my friend at the conclusion of a 5,000 mile road trip across 18 States. Unique bottle and label design for sure. Decent coconut smell is relatively pleasant. Unfortunately the taste test reveals way too sweet profile, and no burn at the end at all. This is marginally better than Malibu, but nowhere as good as the Florida based Siesta Key Toasted Coconut.
Although my all time favorite is Calypso Coconut Rum, which is impossible to find anymore. I tried Blue Chair because it was on the top ten list of many different lists on various websites. I decided to purchase a bottle along with several other brands to taste test and this is by far by favorite. It is very smooth, with a hint of spice. It has a taste that you can use for shots, or mixed drinks.
Came back from the Caribbean looking for coconut rum and found Blue Chair Bay Coconut Rum at the local liquor store in Edmonton. Have been enjoying it ever since. Reminds me of the beach. Very smooth on ice with a hint of Coke for colour. Has tiny pieces of coconut in it that gives it more flavour. Last summer we couldn’t find it in all of Alberta and British Columbia. I was tempted to call Kenny himself. When I finally found it I bought a case. It was like finding an old friend. You can’t go wrong with Blue Chair Bay!
If you want to very social Rama, please this bottle in the freezer for a couple hours then take it out on the boat and pass around. It is by far one of the most fun and social rums around
Love the taste because it’s real sweet more than some other type of rums. Not too much coconut flavor but plenty of coconut taste. Thumbs up, & a great holiday gift!
I normally shy away from flavored rums, but since I finally got a hold of Plantation Pineapple Rum, I wound up on a quest to reinvent the Pina Colada from being something wimpy to something with a kick to it. One successful attempt had me mixing equal parts chilled Coco Lopez with an equal part of Plantation Pineapple Rum with no ice. The pineapple and coconut flavors combined with the rum, but it was too creamy and sweet.
So I searched through these reviews for a very good coconut rum. I had tried Koloa Gold when I was in Kauai last year, and it was so bad that I did not want to bring a bottle of their coconut rum home with me, which I later found out is highly rated. Then I found this Blue Chair Coconut Rum in a store and gladly plunked down the $17 price for it. Wow, this one can be sipped neat, warm or cold, on the rocks, or mixed with any other tropical flavors such as Creme de Cacao or Amaretto.
So how did my more powerful Pina Colada stack up? Try 1 part Plantation Pineapple Rum, 3 parts Blue Chair Coconut Rum, and 2 parts Plantation 3-Star Silver Rum for the perfect balance. Mix well and pour over ice to desired taste. No more creamy Pina Colada! The only problem with this drink is that the Plantation Pineapple Rum is hard to find.
Update: Now that I own what I consider to be the ultimate coconut rum (Koloa Toasted Coconut from Kauai), I needed to know how this one stacks up against it. When that Koloa finally runs out, I may have a very hard time finding another bottle, so a side by side taste test was needed. This one has 26.5% ABV and the Koloa has 40% ABV. This one is sweetened coconut and the Koloa is unsweetened toasted coconut. Both have a pronounced coconut flavor, which is what I want. If I never find another bottle of Koloa, this one will serve me better than the Siesta Key Toasted Coconut because that one contains honey, which is not part of the tropics.
I am also NOT a fan of Kenny Chesney, who owns Blue Chair Bay Rums. However, this rum did inspire me to order his two best beach music CD's, which are totally out of character compared to the rest of his rabble rousing drunken sing alongs that his fans just eat up. Check out Be As You Are and Lucky Old Sun.
The best coconut rum going....bar none. 7 parts pineapple juice, one part OJ and add Blue Chair to your liking. Summer Nectar of the gods!
Th is is not your average coconut rum. This is very good, no fake flavor, no weird syrupy texture. Just a great mixer at a good price. The only flavored rum I've come across and enjoyed.
The liquor store that I work for hosted a tasting of the Blue Chair Bay rums. This rum was a great coconut rum, but is just not my style. To sweet mixed with the overwhelming coconut flavor really hit you hard. However, in comparison to the Malibu Coconut Rum this blows it out the water. Higher proof, smoother flavor, and much better texture all make this rum 10 times better. I would suggest using this for any mixed drink that calls for Malibu Coconut Rum. As all the Blue Chair Bay Rums we tried we paired them in a mixed drink that complemented the flavor from the rums.
This rums mixed drink is a 3 Way Dark and Stormy.
150 ml Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum
75 ml Blue Chair Bay Coconut Rum
Splash of Tropicana Limeade
One lime sliced served over ice.
I like this a lot, but my liquor store stopped carrying it .so have to special order if I want more. same with all Blue chair bay rums, I always recommended it when I was in Liquor store and saw people looking at the rums.
To much coconut for me, needs the spice lol very smooth and full bodied though
This is one is hands down one of my favorite. You can't beat that this is one of the highest proofed coconut rum on the shelf. All natural ingredients gives it that creamy smooth finish. You can mix this with juices, coconut water, or even on the rocks. You won't be disappointed with the taste!!!
And I was not disappointed. I debated over which brand to buy and settled on Blue Chair and was not disappointed. Smooth taste and not a too-overpowering coconut flavor. Enjoyed it immensely. I live in a state-controlled state so the only two offerings are Coconut and Banana ,which I'll have to try.
Tried this one in place of Blue Chair White for my favorite cocktail mix (pineapple, orange juice and grenadine) and I was surprised that it added what I didn't know that my drink was missing.
I really like the taste of this rum, though I found the 26.5%abv a bit weak for my liking.
Taste is pretty much a sweet coconut flavor; not much else to describe it. But it's quite good.
