This is my go-to rum when I am in Colombia. Smooth, flavorful, and a great value. I will drink this suave lady neat, and not feel guilty having her as a CubaLibre.
Compared price-wise this would be the best rum to buy. But quality-wise it also stands out. Smooth and warm feeling in the mouth, not too strong aroma. Still have to compare it with the 10 year anniversary, but in the meantime, good enough for me!
Cant recall much outside from caramel and cinnamon.
It was a long series of rum tastings in Colombia but we all preferred the 10 years anniversary Extra Anejo (post to follow)
Definitely a rum worthy of special occasions. To me there is a slight sweetness to it with a good warmth and not any harsh burn. Very light. Works extremely well in Coke Zero although most would recommend it by itself on or the rocks. Works any way you wish.
Fantastic and different rum. Not sweet for a 12 year old. I love that. But the best is it smells and tastes a bit like toasted hazelnuts, brillant. Awesome for drinking pure and for mixing with Coke too, but never mix with lemon or lime as the hazelnut flavour gets neutralized. Similar to Santa Teresa Linaje but smoother and with more flavour.
Dont used for mixing, it will be a waste. This rum is strong but no too much, you can sipping a long with the enjoy of the flavor of oak.
Today I finally try my bottle of Ron Medellin Gran Reserva delivered to me from Colombia. First, this rum has a lot more character than añejo. It is a smooth, sweet, but still light rum. Like añejo, it has a very mild flavor characteristic of bourbon but nothing like añejo. It has a slight taste of vanilla and Colombian sugar cane.
This is definitely a sipping rum as a would not dare mix this in anything.
doux, vanillé, pas très complexe, un rhum léger et à la fois plat en bouche il s'efface rapidement, on en redemanderai, il laisse en fin de bouche une sensation de frais, comme après avoir manger de l'estragon,
Smooth rum, goes down easy with a silky finish.
Spicy on the front, but flat on the back because its a bit dry.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Very nice natural ron from Colombia. No added sugar, no added flavor, no added colour. If you are fan of natural rums without added sugar, this one is deffinitely for you. I really enjoy it and only explonation I have for these bad reviews is that crybabies wants their sugarbombs. Only thing I dont like is the paper box, which is really badly designed and ron is hard to close inside it.
Nose: A bit of wood, a bit of tobacco, and a bit of chocolate. Nothing extremely intense.
Taste: Natural smooth taste of rum, without sweetness, without any aditions. Wood and a bit of spiciness, also almost no burn in the end. Not the best rum from Colombia, but worth of trying for sure. Really hard to get in my country.
