HSE XO

Magnifique xo de chez HSE. Proche du vsop qui est sublime également. Ces rhums sont l'oeuvre d'un magnifique travail. Il est complexe, sans être désagréable à la première gorgée (bouchée). Une valeur sûre avec un bon rapport qualité prix

Une belle robe cuivrée, un nez tirant sur le cacao et les épices, avec de légères notes plus florales après aération.
La première partie de bouche est assez ronde pour un rhum agricole. On retrouve les saveurs d'épices et de cacao et la canne a sucre enveloppées d'un léger boisé. L'alcool arrive peu après, mais sans prendre le dessus sur les arômes: le tout reste bien équilibré!
Le boisé reste longtemps en bouche pour une belle finale.
Un excellent rhum agricole!!!

Get yourself a bottle and don’t mix. Great smooth taste and what a dark colour.
Must be drunk with a cigar....

Very nice smoky aged rhum! Has the usual agricole palate, but the oak makes it tobacco like. Definitely very good with a good Cuban cigar. Pretty sweet smell and the the booze in nose is not disturbing. Torn between the Xo and Vsop. True 8.

Visited the Habitation Saint-Etienne (HSE) Distillery while vacationing in Martinique. Spectacular unlimited full open tasting bar. Distillery is in a different location than the tasting bar. HSE XO was EUR 55 at the tasting bar. Bright amber color. Very nice and sturdy bottle with a splendid label design. Oak and aniseed flavors merged with traditional high end Rhum Agricole like grass and floral notes to the nose and palate. Quite a strong burn at the end being so dry. Rhum Agricole lovers can easily add 2 points to my score.

Pour une première, ce fut surprenant et mémorable. J'ai trouvé beaucoup de maturité à ce rhum agricole, du cuir, du tabac amsterdamer, des fruits secs grillés. Un côté végétal surprenant, un rhum bien à étudier.

As good as vsop but different. What a rhum ! Strong but balanced, noise and color are typical, taste long and good, hard to stop without taking a second glass... woody and spicy

Ce HSE XO est boisé au nez, rond en bouche et doux par sa canne. Manque légèrement de force sur la fin mais c'est un très bon produit.

Une belle robe pour un rhum puissant, long et savamment épicé. La canne à sucre est bien là. Personnellement, j'aime bien. Rien d'exceptionnel non plus vue la gamme de prix.
