The tast and smell was sweat and tastes fruits like banana and vanilla. My first thought was vanilla icecream with chocolate and banana.
This rum is not for me. Sometimes the tast and smells takes you somewhere deep in my thought's when I listen to great music or sitting in front of the fireplace.
So this rum makes me hungry for Icecream.
I'm not sure what to think of this rum. I drank 2 bottles of it.
the first was very pleasant to drink. fragrant but not too much, hints of vanilla and banana.
the second was undrinkable, too much banana flavors and very strong liquorice. The difference between these two bottles is the power of the aromas, which clearly makes me think that this is a flavored rum. I find it a bit expensive for that kind of rum.
The sweetest rum I've ever tasted. Unfortunately, too much sweetness obscures all other flavors. But, in general, a good rum to reflect on the meaning of life on long evenings.
Disclaimer - I'm not a rum snob. Yet, I wanted to taste something better than Diplomatico Botucal Reserva Exclusiva. I was willing to spend more for this, and arcane was about $72.
This one is better than Diplomatico! It has so unusual fruit, wood and something else aroma and extremely smooth fruit taste. Not something I'd expect from 12 yo rum.
Its about 30% more expensive than Diplomatico but it's a lot more fun experience. Absolutely great. Love it.
If you are not a rum snob but still want something new, try it.
Very strong fruity/candylike smell/flavour in the beginning. I don't like that too much.. seems a bit artificial
Aftertaste is good and smooth though.
Won't buy this again
Rich and interesting aroma. Fruit chewing gum, strawberry, sweet banana. Taste is not so good as nose but rich and not so strong. Aftertaste is soft and not so sweet, almost dry. Good sipper.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Vanille Pudding mit Banane / Vanilla pudding with banana

A very special rum with its own character.
Such a Solera I had never had in the glass, elegant, soft and yet with corners and edges,
not so "soft swept" as many other Solera.
In the nose quite complex, tropical fruits, almonds, banana, citrus fruits, herbs, some medicine-like (in the positive sense), vanilla ....
In the palate, the aromas are totally exploding, a fruit basket filled with tropical fruits, vanilla pudding with banana (not as extreme banana as the Bumbu Rum), marzipan, I can not even enumerate all.
In the finish, the fruity sweetness subsides.
A rum for those who like something different.
An enrichment for the Rum landscape. Not necessarily for beginners.
