Arcane Extraroma Grand Amber Rum from Mauritius ! Fresh und pure sugar cane ! That sounds pretty good. Solera up to 12 years old, unfortunately no information about cask types and the distillery.
Nose : sweeet, a mix from vanilla and banana. A little coconut. Funny and pleasant
Palate : very smooth and sweet, vanilla and coconut again, but no banana any longer. Nuts, cognac are also present. Hints of the barrel. For me it's extraordinary, had nothing else like this before.
Finish : medium to long, vanilla in front, smooth, with a little sharpness but pleasant
Conclusion : a really nice and agreeably rum, especially for newcomers at pure cane rums. Very good price-performance ratio. I cannot believe this rum wasn't sweetened.
The rum from Mauritius has a surprisingly sweet, pineapple, vanilla and coconut flavour.
I love it when I'm having a good time with my loved one in the evening. In my opinion, it's a smooth and delicious drink that stands out from the crowd of agricole rums
Part of the 2021 24 days of Rums calendar. Eager to share my experience!
Rum mě na první pohled okouzlil především hnědavou barvou, která je doplněná sladší chutí.
My first rum from Mauritius. It is nice easy drinking. Sweet and I don't try taste the diffent flavours...
Nice color, good taste, and nice finish, good drinking for night.7/10
The smell is really great. Vanilla, coconut, bananas, marzipan and of course fresh cane juice with earthness. It smells quite sweet, like an expensive box of chocolates. Splendor. One of the nicest scents for me that blends well and make unique complexity.
The taste is drier than the aroma, but still sweet. Just right. In the taste, there is a coconut, banana, vanilla, perhaps a little spice. Of course cane juice again. When I sipp, it starts with sweet taste and then switchs to bitter. The finish is short, which is a shame. But overall for its price, really good piece. Maybe not the best for others, but for me yes. Its like flavored agricole rum, but I like it. It adds another dimension to this blend. I dont get it why its rated so low. In my opinion this can compete to much more expensive A.H. Riise Non Plus Ultra editions, wich are rated much higher, and offer the same complexity and different tastes. Maybe the taste is not for everyone, but surely it can provide one of the best taste experience you can find. This one really stands out from line.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Vanille Pudding mit Banane / Vanilla pudding with banana

A very special rum with its own character.
Such a Solera I had never had in the glass, elegant, soft and yet with corners and edges,
not so "soft swept" as many other Solera.
In the nose quite complex, tropical fruits, almonds, banana, citrus fruits, herbs, some medicine-like (in the positive sense), vanilla ....
In the palate, the aromas are totally exploding, a fruit basket filled with tropical fruits, vanilla pudding with banana (not as extreme banana as the Bumbu Rum), marzipan, I can not even enumerate all.
In the finish, the fruity sweetness subsides.
A rum for those who like something different.
An enrichment for the Rum landscape. Not necessarily for beginners.
