Sabroso y digno de ser el ron oficial de la Royal Navy. Para acompañar con algún hielo.

I always remember faces of peoples which taste this with no idea of it being overproofed ... a bit. Pretty interesting. 7 is for all the fun.

Pussers is up there in my top 10. if I find a rum bar I always hit this rum! For me the original British navy rum! Very nice

I compared this rum directly with the Lemon Hart 151, mixing a 151 Swizzle with each. The Lemon Hart 151 is better, but the Pusser's Overproof has a somewhat similar aroma; upon first impression it's a bit lighter, and a bit earthier, and the taste is quite a bit sweeter. Upon longer examination an interesting milk-like nuance appears. Since the Lemon Hart 151 is officially unavailable in Europe, it makes sense to substitute it with the Pusser's Overproof, especially considering that in most of the old cocktail recipes of the Tiki culture lots of other ingredients and rums are added, which mask the aroma of the Lemon Hart 151.

I like this aged rum a lot. Very smooth, no aftertaste and no burn. Highly recommend.

even if it a overproof rum, it has taste. Anyway - you still do not have power to dring the whole bottle alone.

I like this rum too, but it is very different from the 40% ABV version Navy Rum and also from the 54% ABV Gunpowder Proof.

This is extremely strong, not meant to be sipped neat for sure. Seriously, don't try it. Or do not say that you have not been warned if you do anyway.
It is woody, astringent, much less sweet than the other Pusser's rums. Notes of spices (nutmeg, cardamom), some heat. A bit of gasoline. If I did not know any better, I would assume some Jamaican rum to be in the mix, as it is very dunder-ish. But that might be the Guyana part, they sometimes achieve something very close.

This fire water is meant for mixing. Or for sipping with a generous ammount (50% or so) of water. I like it for mixing, I like it in Painkiller cocktails. It is brilliant for that. As a sipper, I would still prefer it to many of the sweetened "premium" rums out there. But then preferably with a lot of water and - sacrilege, I know - some ice.
It goes very well mixed with ginger beer or ginger ale. I do personally not drin rum-cola, but I assume that it would also be great for that role, since it is sure to punch through any flavours you throw at it. If you like some flavour in your longdrink, this is a good choice.

The "standard" Navy Rum and the Gunpowder Proof are now all purely Guyana rum. This, on the other hand, is still a mix of Virgin Islands, Trinidad and Guyana rums. And it shows. I have an old bottle of the 42% ABV navy rum, which is similar, but much less potent (and much more sippable).

It's got character and power, but it's a bit too sweet for me.

Doesn’t get any more old fashioned good rum than this. Buy a drink of this on the rocks now and again just to remind myself what a rum should be. Nothing fancy just rum.

Starts off sweet and cloying and then gets progressively harsher.

Burns your throat when you swallow.

I like it with ginger beer when I don't feel like a spiced rum.
