Don Papa Small Batch Rum is produced by the Bleeding Heart Rum Company on the southern island of Negros in the Philippines. The rum is distilled from molasses, then aged for over 7 years in American oak barrels, and lastly charcoal filtered.
The name Don Papa rum was inspired by Papa Isio, a leader of the Philippine revolution against the Spanish who led his island to independence before joining the main revolutionary movement.

It's rather sweet rum (not too much) with a fruity taste that is very good for 1 - 2 glasses but lacks that kind of quality of being different by every sip. You cannot really compare it to other rums because it's just very different. Makes you think whether the reviews stating that it's fake might be true..
nez chocolat pomme tatin caramel
bouche gourmand caramel sucré bon rhum
Best rum for me! Love the sweet aroma, love the times with Papacek, cause those are times of good mood
Agree with all reviews, it ain't rum for me. I gave it a 3 because of the marketing and branding, that DP does well. But its a bit of a scam. Though the regular malibu or red bull consumer may find DP the best rum there is and that's unfortunate - i believe - to the spirit of rum.
I don't know what to think about this one. More a liqueur than a rhum. This one goes on a list alongside Bumbu rum ,legendario 7 years or diplomatico reserva exclusiva
Le goût n'est pas en adéquation avec. L'odeur ...goût particulier fruité
Aroma of that rum is marvelous. Sweet, vanilla, cherry. You will recognize it always. If you like sweet rums that's something for you. Ok - taste is not fantastic...but....that aroma make everything.
Definetly a sweeter rum. Descriptions all talk about vanilla and orange, but I got a strong pineapple flavor. I did not like this for sipping, but it makes an incredible daquiri
Fruity, taste of orange and vanilla. Beautiful bottle.
Nothing special, better spiced rum. Good for rum if you like sweet rum. Older Brother 10y is much much better

Smells a lot like a vanilla and lemonade ice cream float.
"For all its sweet sugariness, its really very drying and bitter on the palate once it all settles down."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Too intense vanilla, too sweet, too artificial - possibly a good rum liqueur.

90% awards of this rum is for the label and bottle design and it's more a rum liqueur than a rum.
At first, the rum stands out positively: vanilla, berries, no alcohol in the taste, extreamly smooth.
However, every sip removes the thought of drinking a rum.
It is also becoming more and more intrusive. There is nothing rum-like about it.
Definitely good rum liqueur. For people who don't know rum, it's definitely impressive.
Too artificial for rum lovers. If you love sugary and very sweet liqueur a rating of 9 would also be appropriate.
