This rum has a vanille overkill in the nose. In the mouth, you just dont know what to do with it. I don't know what they put in this liquor, but for me, its just a chemical syrup... Hate it or love it!

However I love the design of the bottle. Very beautiful. I keep it in my collection just for that. And to get rid of unwanted guests... hehe...

Not sure if it is a rum or just flavored spirit with Vanilla and Caramel in it. Packaging looks cool, but drink inside is just meh.

This is one of the worst I've ever had and a two because I've never had a one (to paraphrase Clint Eastwood).

Über sweet with artificial flavours of vanilla and suger. Couldn't even use it with Coke or Ginger beer as it totally overwhelms any mixer.

The fake vanilla taste of this rum remind me of a time in my childhood when I was very sick, and the medicine I had to take. allot of medicine was flavored with vanilla at the time and ruined the taste for an entire generation, can't stand the fake vanilla taste, just stop it.

Jedno tomuto nápoju musím uznať - vďaka nemu som vstúpil do sveta rumu. Dnes ma na tomto produkte zaujme už len pekná fľaša so štýlovou etiketou, pôsobí naozaj hodnotne. Aj vôňa aj chuť sú však pre rumana úplne mimo štandard. Veľké množstvo pridaného cukru a vanilínu urobilo svoje, celkom prebíja to, čo mi na rumoch najviac imponuje, teda vyzreté dubové tóny. No čo, svetu vládne tvrdý marketing, je to taká Coca-Cola medzi rumovinkami. Ruman sa tomu vyhne a ľudia, ktorí si drahší pohárik doprajú len príležitostne, ho budú naďalej oslavovať. Blažení nevedomí...

Don Papa is an average rum in my opinion. It’s nothing special, but by the same token it’s not as bad as some would have you believe. Drank neat, you get an instant hit of sweetness, but not so that it overpowers the rum,(could do with it being sweeter if anything.) But full disclosure, I don’t recognise what ingredient is giving Don Papa it’s sweetness. All I know with a relative degree of certainty, is that it doesn’t seem to be vanilla. The alcohol burn isn’t to harsh to be fair, making this rum drinkable neat. For me though, I prefer to have Don Papa mixed with Coca-Cola, just because it makes it a tad sweeter and calms down the alcoburn it does possess. Having said that, mixed with coke, Don Papa ends up developing a weird aftertaste, almost liquorice like, which doesn’t seem to be present when drank neat.

It is a pleasant rum but its far from a good one. Too expensive for what its offering. Arromas of bubble gum and taste of homey, cinamon a little bit of oranage. Strong kick but playful taste. If ut wasnt so expensive it would be a grat add for spicy coctails. Added sugar

Extremely sweet and fruity rum. There is definitely something to learn from the Caribbean
